Leading edge innovator Synadia today announced strong industry momentum including 200% YoY customer adoption across Synadia Platform and Synadia Cloud.
The NATS open-source community continues its rapid expansion, now boasting over 40k stars on GitHub across the nats-io and synadia-io organizations, with NATS Server reaching 17k stars. Community engagement also hit a new milestone, surpassing 10k members in the NATS Community Slack.
Synadia’s leadership in the market is a direct response to the growing demand for low-latency connectivity, as well as the emerging need for a unified, scalable and resilient data layer from cloud-to-edge and edge-to-cloud.
Following Synadia’s series B funding round in February 2024, which raised $25 million, Synadia has released a suite of new capabilities, such as HTTP Gateway (a simple way to expose NATS services over HTTP, making it easier to integrate with web applications, REST-based services, and third-party APIs) and Auth Callouts (a flexible authentication mechanism that allows external services to dynamically validate and authorize client connections in real-time, enabling fine-grained access control and seamless integration with existing identity systems).
These enhancements simplify adoption, strengthen security, and expand the interoperability of Synadia’s offerings. Additionally, Synadia Cloud now empowers customers with increased client connections and subject subscription limits up to 10x higher at no additional cost, enabling effortless scaling for IoT, edge, and distributed applications.
Synadia will continue to roll out new capabilities for its enterprise-grade NATS offering throughout 2025. With the introduction of Workloads, the third pillar of NATS alongside connectivity and data, customers will be able to deploy and run applications directly within Synadia Cloud and Synadia Platform, further reinforcing the “Nothin’ but NATS” approach to building modern distributed systems.
“If Edge and AI took 2024-2025 by storm, Synadia is riding the wave at the bleeding edge,” said Synadia VP of Marketing Justyna Bak. “Agentic AI apps will run where users need them most—at the edge—delivering real-time messages with zero data loss and securely storing data for future analysis and insights. With connectivity and messaging in milliseconds, we are providing edge-native, AI-ready scalable solutions for our customers from small startups to Global 500 enterprises.”
David Morley, director of software engineering for Synadia customer, PowerFlex, praised NATS for its flexibility, “NATS’ lightweight, reliable messaging system perfectly fits our edge-to-cloud and cloud-to-edge architecture, allowing us to scale effortlessly, ensuring real-time communication and enabling seamless energy management.”
As enterprises accelerate their AI adoption, the ability to process data in real-time, closer to where it’s generated, is business critical. Synadia’s rapid growth underscores the increasing demand for edge-native solutions that ensure seamless connectivity and reliable performance under any conditions, including offline scenarios.
“The future of enterprise technology is edge-native and organizations that leverage this strategy will be well-positioned for sustainable growth in the age of AI,” said Synadia CEO, Derek Collison. “Synadia is creating new customer offerings, from product capabilities to licensing changes, all in support of edge innovation.”
