LIQID Inc., one of the world’s leading software companies delivering data center composability, announced today that the company has appointed technology industry veteran John Bertero as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Bertero brings 30 years experience to Liqid, working with a wide variety of firms at all stages of corporate development, from early startups to blue chip technology providers and OEMs. His far-ranging expertise makes him the ideal candidate to align Liqid’s sales processes and strategies and forge long-term, collaborative partnerships with new innovators and industry stalwarts alike, and advance the continued international hypergrowth and mainstream adoption of Liqid Matrix™ composable disaggregated infrastructure (CDI) software and solutions. Bertero’s overall go-to-market vision prioritizes fully integrated, partner-centric CDI solutions that have the potential to increase the already impressive value Liqid delivers for its wide range of customers, OEM and channel partners, investors, and other key stakeholders.

“Liqid Matrix CDI software and solutions have the potential to change the way the industry architects its data centers. By introducing unprecedented software-defined data performance and operational efficiencies that meaningfully reduce capital- and operational expenditures, Liqid Matrix offers the opportunity to manage bare-metal resources such as GPU with the agility that VMware brought to traditional server architectures,” Bertero said. “I look forward to collaborating across Liqid’s sales, engineering, marketing, operations, and leadership teams to identify new markets, develop new revenue streams, and expand customer and partner successes with Liqid Matrix software and solutions.”

Bertero arrives at Liqid after holding multiple top leadership positions at hyperconverged infrastructure pioneer Nutanix, where he ultimately served as Chief Operating Officer, Americas, as the company transitioned away from providing hardware components to a Software-as-a-Service business model. He also served as Senior Vice President and General Manager at enterprise software provider SAP, Sr. Vice President at Hitachi Security Systems, and spent more than nine years as Area Vice President at enterprise storage provider EMC. Earlier in his career, Bertero has also held various leadership positions with early-to-mid stage startups, including MapR, Dun and Bradstreet Software, Banyan Systems, and The ForeFront Group.

“John’s wide-ranging leadership experience – whether it’s helping startups mature and exit or elevating emerging enterprise software and solutions to table-stakes technologies – will be a major contribution in our ongoing efforts to align and refine our sales strategies with the goals of our OEM and channel sales partners,” said Sumit Puri, CEO & Cofounder, Liqid. “With his career history of remarkable accomplishments at some of the industry’s most innovative companies, we trust John’s input as an invaluable resource to the next stage of Liqid’s already impressive growth and success, with the industry chops to expand Liqid’s presence and market share in a rapidly evolving IT landscape.”
