Excella, a pioneer in Agile technology solutions, today announced it has been awarded a task order with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (HHS OIG), expanding ongoing support across all three divisions within the Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO). Through the task order, valued at $27 million over five years, Excella will provide change management, communication, human-centered design, data analytics support, and agile coaching services to combat fraud, waste and abuse and support the development of HHS OIG’s strategic roadmap.
HHS OIG oversees more than $1 trillion in funding that directly impacts citizens’ everyday lives. The OCDO empowers OIG to use data proactively and has become the model for using data to fight fraud, waste, and abuse and improve program effectiveness.
Excella’s change management, AI analytics and agile coaching offerings will allow the agency to develop, enhance, and maintain OCDO analytics products and services to support decision-making, optimize staff resources, and carry out OIG’s mission. All of these products will be built utilizing key principles of human-centered and service design to ensure user needs are clearly understood and the whole user experience is addressed from start to finish.
“Combatting fraud, waste, and abuse with our federal agency partners is a passion for our team at Excella. We are excited to continue our partnership with OIG and bring our AI analytics, agile capabilities and design expertise come together to address these challenges in new, holistic ways,” said Jimmy Benani, Excella’s Director of Federal Health and Civilian markets. “The combination of these capabilities will provide OIG with innovative approaches to help manage and align their strategic priorities, as well as a framework to build out the critical analytics products.
As a partner for over five years, Excella supports various components across HHS OIG, providing a comprehensive view into the agency’s fraud, waste and abuse efforts, enabling collaboration and increasing effectiveness.
Excella will be joined on the contract by partners A1M Solutions, Elder Research Inc. (ERI) and Mathematica.
