Dahua Technology USA Inc., a world-leading provider of video security solutions, has developed a controller solution to manage all Dahua access control products, along with those from third parties. The controller, model DHI-ASC3202B, streamlines management of credentials and door access, while providing a robust set of options for advanced configurations. The new 2-door web controller is designed to grow with businesses and ensure their perimeters are secured at scale.
The DHI-ASC3202B 2-door controller provides a solution to managing access control devices from a single remote interface. The controller has two operating modes—standalone and software control mode. The standalone mode utilizes the Main controller’s web interface to manage your access products such as readers. Any additional controllers added must be in Software control mode, controlled by the Main controller UI. If you prefer to have the DHI-ASC3202B controlled by DSS, then all controllers are put into software control mode. Each mode controls up to 2 doors, with the scalability of up to 500 doors with DSS Pro.
The market was clearly signaling demand for controllers that are PoE (IEEE802.3at) capable, is managed with a mobile app, and function as an open platform for managing third-party readers. Dahua delivered on each demand. Our web access controller allows integrators to easily set up their Dahua readers, with the added flexibility of using readers from other manufacturers. The product also provides a remote management capability that reduces—and can even eliminate—an integrator’s travel time for maintenance.
The web interface provides an overview of the access control network, allowing real-time monitoring. Admin control—such as hardware I/O configuration, remote lock/unlock, and log exports—provides all the necessary functions to manage the access control system.
“With our new web access controller, security integrators no longer have to configure and program readers at the same time as wiring and installation,” said Kevin Sok, Product Marketing Manager at Dahua Technology USA. “Site visits for hardware wiring are expensive, time-intensive, and inconvenient for integrators and end-customers alike. Dahua is improving efficiency for our partners and customers by providing integrators with a much more flexible configuration that can be done from home or in the office.”
Dahua’s new web controller continues our cutting-edge innovation in access control products, ignited by the introduction of second-generation readers. The second-generation—now in a modern, piano-black flush design—has improved card reading range and better security logic, utilizing user IDs as unique identifiers. With the addition of a higher IP66 rating, readers also have higher operation temperature ratings. The anti-tampering alarm that comes standard on all readers discourages vandalism, alarming if someone tries to tamper with a reader.
“Our current readers continue to support both Wiegand and RS-485 wiring, as we understand that not all project requirements are the same,” Sok said. “With our streamlined setup process and support for both wiring interfaces, we hope to give our security integrators the arsenal they need to tackle any project.”
