Apricorn has entered the UK and European market with three distributors for its portable and secure storage products for business, the military and government.
Its Aegis storage products are now being sold and supported out of an EMEA headquarters in Southport, Merseyside. With a strategy of selling exclusively through a two-tier model, US-headquartered Apricorn is actively recruiting partners to establish a strong channel network across the region.
“With the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on the horizon, many European organisations will be looking to solve their data security and protection challenges,” said Jon Fielding, managing director, Apricorn EMEA.
“Apricorn devices eliminate the need, and risk, of installing or managing software on the company network, and are fully compatible with any hardware that supports a USB port. On top of this, all encryption and authentication functionality sits on the device itself, making it extremely secure, easy to use and affordable.”
Three new distributors are already on board, including Simms International in the UK, Secury Products in Benelux and Bedriftssystemer AS in the Nordic region. Apricorn is actively recruiting additional partners in other key regions such as France and Germany/Austria/Switzerland (DACH).
“When I visited Apricorn and met their team it became very clear both Simms International and Apricorn have a similar culture, common values and a clear focus,” said Andrew Henderson, managing director, Simms International. “We believe this new partnership will benefit the UK channel by bringing a new range of encrypted products supported by the Simms team and our many years of experience.”
