Managed service provider TGC Computers has secured a deal with legal firm Lawlords to modernise its ageing IT infrastructure and improve data protection with SimpliVity solutions.
Lawlords’ systems were becoming “increasingly risky” and costly to maintain said the MSP. The firm relied on a mix of non-redundant legacy HP and Dell servers with internal storage. Equipment failures or catastrophes had the potential to impair critical IT services and disrupt business.
Stuart Taylor, IT manager, Lawlords, said: “After evaluating HP, NetApp and Dell we selected SimpliVity OmniCube for our next generation data centre because of its superior economics and all-encompassing feature set.
Lawlords was further constrained by inefficient tape-based backup procedures. Applications and data were backed up daily, after business hours, and manual restorations from tape took hours.
And any changes that occurred since the last nightly backup were simply lost.
Taylor initiated a data centre modernisation programme to improve the reliability and agility of the firm’s IT infrastructure and selected SimpliVity OmniCube hyperconverged infrastructure.
TGC has now passed the £1 million revenue mark with SimpliVity products and has achieved a unique first for the UK – they have been awarded the first UK Gold Partner status by SimpliVity (pictured).
Tim Evans, TGC managing director (pictured left), said: “Our newly achieved partner status recognises TGC’s commitment and understanding of the most pioneering technology on the market, and we look forward to providing our clients old and new the very best in hyperconverged solutions.”
