Three-quarters (72 percent) of UK organisations expect to roll out digital transformation strategies within the next two years, says the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF).
The digital transformation of UK businesses is still relatively immature though and too many organisations are only just scratching the surface, according to the CIF research among 250 firms of different sizes.
While a high proportion of businesses have digital transformation in their sights, more work is needed if they are to reach their digital potential. Just 16 percent of organisations currently have a digital transformation strategy in place today.
The survey found that 13 percent of organisations that have implemented, or are planning on implementing a digital transformation strategy, say that the cloud is “critical” to it, and a further 80 percent say that the cloud is “important”.
Around six in ten (59 percent) of organisations that currently have or are in the process of implementing a digital transformation strategy say that it is designed to steer the use of technology over the next decade.
Around four in ten (43 percent) report that the intention is to achieve better use of data and analytics, and three in ten (30 percent) report it is to improve innovation abilities
