Greenbone and Khipu team up to provide security to Jisc
Greenbone entered the UK market with Exclusive Networks earlier this year
Greenbone and Khipu Networks have teamed up to become the official providers of vulnerability management solutions to UK education network Jisc.
Jisc selected Greenbone and Khipu Networks following a OJEU competitive tender process. With more than 18 million network users, spanning 800 education and research organisations, it was vital the chosen solution could meet requirements to quickly identify and prevent vulnerabilities.
German firm Greenbone recently entered the UK market with distributor Exclusive Networks, and Khipu Networks – which delivers a wide range of networking, Wi-Fi and security solutions – then joined Greenbone’s partner programme.
Dave Spence, senior account manager at Khipu Networks, said: “We are really pleased to be selected as the single supplier to Jisc for the Vulnerability Assessment Service, and I believe this reflects our focus and commitment to securing our customers’ critical networks and data, with next-generation security solutions such as Greenbone’s Security Manager.”
Dirk Schrader, chief marketing officer of Greenbone Networks, said: “We see the agreement with Jisc as a major step into the UK market. The service meets the highest security standards and is specifically tailored to meet the needs of the UK education and research sector.”
“UK education and research organisations recognise the importance of identifying vulnerabilities that may affect their networks,” said Steve Kennett, head of operational services at Jisc. “The technology behind the vulnerability assessment service in this framework agreement directly addresses the security risks facing organisations in protecting their networks.”
The value of the security framework deal has not been disclosed.
