CACI buys Purple Secure Systems to bolster cybersecurity effort

CACI has bought Purple Secure Systems, a provider of agile systems and software for national security, defence and government organisations.

Purple will form part of CACI’s IT solutions business which provides systems integration, software applications and consultancy services, from data integration, web reporting and mobile working to telecom support systems, online transactional solutions and case management systems.

Greg Bradford, chief executive of CACI, said: “The acquisition adds significant growth to CACI Ltd’s business and contributes to one of our strategic objectives to build a cybersecurity and defence business.

Purple Secure Systems has strong capability in delivering systems and software engineering skills for some of the most challenging government and defence projects. This capability will form the key foundation for building CACI’s defence and cyber business.”

Established in 1975, CACI employs more than 850 staff in the UK and Europe providing business information systems to public and private sector clients. CACI Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of CACI International Inc., a US IT services group publicly traded on the NYSE and employing over 21,000 staff across over 120 offices globally.

Purple Secure Systems was founded in March 2006 by David Harris and Jez Williams, who recognised that many government and defence organisations have a regular need to supplement their in-house systems and software engineering capability with external support.

The value of the acquisition has not been disclosed.
