Excalibur carves a bigger slice of the south west with Devision buy

Excalibur Communications has boosted its stronghold in the South West by acquiring the specialist Chippenham-based IT firm Devision.

The IT solutions provider has bought the company for an undisclosed sum. Devision’s “expertise” and “wide range of customers” was key to attracting interest from Excalibur, it said. It has been looking to expand its IT service since moving to its new headquarters in Swindon ten months ago.

James Phipps, CEO at Excalibur, said: “Devision have a very good reputation for providing managed services to small and medium sized enterprises. The acquisition brings us new customers in some exciting new sectors, together with highly skilled members of the Devision team.”

To build on its end-to-end unified solutions capability, Excalibur previously acquired IT businesses Bridge Solutions and Emnico Enterprises.

With Devision, we have again been very careful to gain the right cultural fit”, added Phipps. “As part of our sustained growth plan, this latest acquisition gives our new and existing customers even more in the way of first class support and services.”
