Alert Logic gets £572,000 grant for Belfast security research site
US cloud security-as-a-service firm continues to expand in EMEA
Alert Logic, the provider of security-as-a-service solutions via the cloud, has received a £572,000 grant from Invest Northern Ireland to support its new Security Research and Technology Development centre located in Belfast.
The grant will enable the continued growth of the Belfast office by supporting approximately 90 jobs. In addition to opening an office in London in 2013 and a security operations centre (SOC) in Cardiff in 2015, US firm Alert Logic continued its expansion into EMEA with the Belfast site.
“European companies are moving to the cloud in record numbers and they realise that security solutions built in the cloud, specifically for the cloud, coupled with 24×7 managed services, is the way to keep their sensitive data safe and secure,” said Gray Hall, CEO of Alert Logic.
“We are thrilled to continue to expand our European presence and provide security-as-a-service solutions for EMEA business customers.”
Alert Logic’s Belfast office is staffed by employees in a variety of functions, including threat intelligence, analytics and engineering.
Alert Logic has grown to six global offices, including its headquarters in Houston, Texas, and last month announced year on year sales growth of 40 percent for 2015.
