Fantastic Cloud Services wins first public sector deal
Wealden District Council uses Leeds firm to protect citizen data
A six-month old Yorkshire cloud services company has won its first public sector contract. Fantastic Cloud Services has signed a two year deal with Wealden District Council in East Sussex.
The Leeds-based company’s current portfolio consists of regional and national businesses such as The Technology Forge, Optimum Data Centres and Tastecard. Fantastic will provide and support a private cloud back up and disaster recovery solution protecting the council’s IT infrastructure and data.
Fantastic Cloud Services operations director Jeremy Wyatt said: “The tender was an interesting one because it involved a solution for a private vault of data. Given the sensitive nature of this data – private information for over 150,000 people in Wealden District – the security measures we employed had to be the best in the industry.”
Simon Russell, ICT support manager at Wealden District Council, said: “We invited a range of companies to pitch and were very impressed with what Fantastic Cloud Services had to offer.
“We look forward to working with them over the next 24 months as we expand our infrastructure and provide a better online experience for our residents and staff.”
The value of the contract that the council has signed with Fantastic Cloud Services has not been disclosed.
