Dell has launched a new hybrid cloud solution in partnership with Microsoft. Dell Hybrid Cloud System for Microsoft can be deployed in “less than three hours”, said Dell, which previously axed its own public cloud offering in the face of stiff competition.
Dell Hybrid Cloud System for Microsoft. The new offering is designed to break through the hybrid cloud adoption barriers of complexity, cost and control.
Dell Hybrid Cloud System for Microsoft provides customers with on-premises private cloud services, with consistent Microsoft Azure public cloud access in less than three hours, and “minimised downtime” with unified system updates that are “non-disruptive, fully automated, dependency-aware and smart-sequenced”, said Dell.
“When you couple Microsoft’s unique Azure consistency from public to private cloud and Dell Cloud Manager integrated with the Dell Hybrid Cloud System for Microsoft, customers now have unparalleled cloud governance and control. With our new Cloud Flex Pay programme, cost-risk is all but eliminated.”
The new offering can be used on the Microsoft Azure public cloud and in other cloud environments. “Customers want to simplify and accelerate their journey to the cloud, and today Microsoft and Dell are extending their collaboration to remove many of the traditional barriers to hybrid cloud,” said Scott Guthrie, executive vice president, cloud and enterprise at Microsoft.
Additional services from Dell around the new cloud system include ProSupport and Managed Cloud Services.
