NaviSite hires channel head and new operations director
Time Warner Cable firm leaps on expanding European cloud hosting market
NaviSite Europe has brought in David Penny as regional channel director and Gary Smallman as operations director. They have been hired to continue increasing NaviSite’s footprint in the UK market and expanding NaviSite’s European presence.
NaviSite Europe is part of the Time Warner Cable company, and is an international provider of enterprise-class cloud-enabled hosting, managed applications and services. Its offering is aimed at organisations looking to outsource IT infrastructures and lower their capital and operational costs.
Penny joins from Huawei where he and his team set up the channel business for the company and grew it to a significant business arm, with relationships established via the major UK distributors and over 100 value added resellers, managed service providers and systems integrators. He has over 20 years of experience within the IT and telecoms industries, working around the globe in the US, Korea, China and across Europe.
He has developed new business for leading organisations including GEC Marconi, Ericsson and EMI. Penny will be in charge of developing and driving NaviSite Europe’s channel programme with a focus on new partner recruitment, and establishing solid go to market plans with existing and new partners across the UK and Europe, said NaviSite.
With over 15 years of experience working in managerial and consultative positions within operations and data centre environments, Smallman’s operations role will see him being responsible for continuing to drive and improve services to NaviSite’s growing customer base. Previously employed as the service delivery lead for Charityshare, Smallman delivered IT services to multiple major charities. He has also held positions at Colt Technology Services, Align.com and CSC.
