IGEL looking for new thin client resellers in Scotland
The company has appointed Michael Murphy as its new regional sales manager to expand its growing channel business
IGEL Technology is aiming to grow its thin client business in Scotland with the appointment of Michael Murphy as its new regional sales manager.
Murphy says he will focus on opportunities in the housing association market segment, public sector and oil and gas industry, and will appoint reseller specialists to help drive growth.
“IGEL already has a great track record of delivering easy to centrally manage and cost effective thin and zero clients for the desktop,” said Murphy. “In Scotland, we are looking to build on our existing successful relationships with multiple housing associations across the country, as well as National Health Trusts and large Scottish government agencies.”
IGEL offers a range of universal thin and zero clients that allow customers to take advantage of the best back-end IT infrastructure for their business – whether its cloud, virtual or server-based computing.
In addition, IGEL’s Universal Desktop Converter 2 (UDC2) software, which is used to convert old PCs, notebooks and thin clients into IGEL-like devices, is increasingly being used to provide businesses with an easy and cost effective entry into server-based or virtualised desktop computing.
Using UDC2 software, businesses can extend the life of their current desktops to deliver a cloud or server-based computing architecture, and produce a shorter return on investment when migrating to a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment.
Murphy said: “In Scotland, we are looking for specialist IT resellers with knowledge of the key industries, such as oil and gas, that can us help bring the benefits of cloud, virtual and server-based desktop computing to Scottish businesses.”
