CentriLogic improves its cloud hosting links for London firms
The upgrade supports direct peering for unified communications, including CentriLogic’s partnership which serves the UK Alcatel-Lucent enterprise channel community
CentriLogic, the global provider of managed hosting, cloud computing, co-location and IT outsourcing solutions, has completed a major upgrade of its Bracknell, Berks data centre to better serve its London-based customers.
CentriLogic says the upgrade will help customers “reduce the cost of connectivity into its data centres” alongside a “wider range of related services”.
“When we launched in Europe in 2012, we chose our Bracknell location for its security, ease of access and lower operating expenditure, which provided a basis to offer more cost effective services than London-based rivals – it proved a wise choice that has led to consistent year-over-year growth,” said Nigel Offley, VP of EMEA for CentriLogic.
The company says it has successfully completed a project that has added multiple 10Gbps and additional Tier 1 IP transit connectivity links directly into Telecity, one of the UK’s largest interconnection points, based in London’s Docklands. This will provide CentriLogic’s London clients with a lower cost option to directly connect the Bracknell, UK data centre to the firm’s wider global network of data centres in the Americas and Asia.
The project includes a “significant investment” in equipment, including dedicated lines as well as an overhaul of the data centre backbone to accommodate the new 10Gbps links. In addition, the upgrade includes dedicated SIP trunking to accommodate direct peering for unified communications solutions, including CentriLogic’s own partnership which serves the Alcatel-Lucent enterprise channel community in the UK.
“The upgrade is part of a wider push to ensure that clients have a flexible range of connectivity solutions, which we can deliver as integrated service packages to help reduce costs and complexity. Our upgrade in the UK mirrors similar interconnection projects around the world that are furthering our global capabilities for the benefit of our clients,” Offley said.
