Global IT industry organisation CompTIA has appointed a new UK channel director. It has brought in Estelle Johannes as its UK director, member communities.
As part of her plans for CompTIA’s UK community, she plans to build on the existing UK channel membership, ensuring that its events and meetings are “of ever-increasing value to attendees”, said CompTIA. She also plans to extend CompTIA’s membership profile into central and northern Europe, as well as other emerging markets.
“CompTIA’s UK channel membership is a passionate group of people who firmly believe in driving the standards of the industry forward, and I can’t wait to get involved,” said Johannes (pictured). “Communities are all about building long lasting relationships and I hope to make this a key aspect of our activity going forward by maximising networking opportunities.”
She added: “Through new ways of engagement, like gamification, social media interaction and eBooks, I hope to bring new ways of learning to the community and take the way we share information to the next level.”
Jim Hamilton, vice president of member communities at CompTIA, said: “Estelle brings a natural enthusiasm to our community and a great deal of knowledge in the key issues that face the channel today, ranging from the skills gap to women in IT and the impact of new technologies.
“We are delighted that Estelle has joined CompTIA and have no doubt that she will be a fantastic leader, helping our UK channel community become better than ever.”
