AppSense makes two senior channel hires

AppSense, the virtualisation, workspace and desktop management company, has announced the appointment of Atif Ahmed as vice-president for Northern Europe and Zoe Clark as channel sales director for Northern Europe, as the company says it continues to focus on enabling its channel partners’ success.

Atif Ahmed of AppSense

Ahmed has nearly 20 years of experience working with the IT and security channel. In his new role he is responsible for driving further growth in the UK and Nordics, providing support to customers and partners, including VARs, alliances and system integrators, to ensure they maximise the potential offered by AppSense solutions and creating new business opportunities.

He joins from Websense, where he was VP sales UK, Ireland and Benelux. He also has in-depth channel experience from his time at Check Point Software Technologies

It’s an exciting time to be joining the AppSense team,” said Ahmed. “Over the past 12 months the company has demonstrated a significant commitment to its VARs and partners and I am looking forward to helping more AppSense partners maximise the opportunities that our solutions offer, and ultimately improving their bottom line.”

Clark will be responsible for delivering AppSense’s channel programme to partners in Northern Europe. She joins from Websense too, where she was director of channel sales, having previously worked as channel sales director at Check Point Software Technologies.

Commenting on the appointments, Nick Lowe, SVP and GM for EMEA at AppSense, said: “Atif and Zoe bring a wealth of experience in building, executing and managing channel partners and will help us accelerate our channel strategy both in the short and long term. We are delighted that they have chosen to join us, as their expertise will be of huge benefit to AppSense and our partners.”

The AppSense channel programme has seen several enhancements in the past 12 months, including the launch of the AppSense platinum tier, the appointment of a dedicated partner-focused internal sales development team to generate new business leads for partners, a technical and a commercial learning management system and accreditations, and a revised and extended market development fund for new and existing partners.
