Fujitsu has appointed Colin Smith as head of enterprise servers and converged systems, taking him from Computacenter.
At Computacenter Smith held the post of HP alliances director for two years and was previously HP category manager for over six years. Prior to joining the corporate reseller business, Smith worked in a number of channel-facing roles both within distribution – at Tech Data and earlier at Metrologie – and at vendors Symantec and LG Electronics.
“Fujitsu has a great reputation and has been making a really powerful impression in the enterprise channel,” said Smith. “The drive and hunger at Fujitsu is admirable – this is a company with a real desire to succeed and being a part of that has a very strong appeal for me.”
Smith joins a channel team that has been growing in strength over the past two years, as Fujitsu has stepped up its investment in partner development. “This new appointment shows our commitment to the channel”, said Craig Parker, head of product marketing at the Fujitsu technology products group.
“Colin is a valuable addition to our growing channel support team. He has a great deal of experience and deep understanding of the needs of both distributor and reseller partners, and will play an important role in helping Fujitsu and its partners to develop enterprise server and converged infrastructure business.”
