Box Steps Up Euro Presence Through UK Channel Partners
SDG, Softcat, Bytes and Comparex appear on the roster as cloud storage firm seeks local links
Cloud storage firm Box has signed up one distributor and three resellers as it looks to build up business in the UK and Europe.
The company has signed up distie SDG as well as three resellers: Softcat, Bytes Software and Comparex. The latest signings bring its partner total to 22. The firm is in discussion with up to 20 more partners.
European push
The move is part of the company’s plan to grow its business here, doubling its customer base since June, 2012. Box has grown its team in London to 40 employees and is bringing on local talent in Paris and Munich to serve its growing customer base in France and Germany.
“European businesses are primed to transition from traditional legacy IT solutions to more user-friendly, flexible and scalable cloud platforms,” said David Quantrell, general manager of EMEA for Box. “Increasingly, a company’s ability to facilitate collaboration, while securely managing information, is critical to their competitiveness. By moving their content to the cloud with Box, IT professionals are dramatically increasing their companies’ productivity without sacrificing enterprise-grade security.”
The company also announced a number of new customers including a 50,000-seat deployment at global energy management company Schneider Electric.
“Energy management and efficiency are the two initiatives that drive our team and our business forward. When you create a more efficient environment, everyone benefits – you, the consumer, and your business,” said Hervé Coureil, chief information officer at Schneider Electric. “Moving to a cloud technology like Box that provides more efficiency, security and simplicity for our employees was a natural choice for our company.”
It has also signed up Hopkins Architects, Mondi, Rightster, Royal HaskoningDHV, XL Video and XM Solutions.
