Softcat became the first UK HP partner to win an EMEA-wide award at the US giant’s Global Partner Conference in Las Vegas.
HP’s president and CEO Meg Whitman presented the award at the Sands Convention Centre, Venetian Hotel, last night. At last year’s conference Softcat won HP UK PSG Partner of the Year.
The EMEA Partner of the Year award recognises the top-performing company over the past year, based on sales performance, product implementation excellence, and overall partner support and innovation in its HP Enterprise Group. This group covers server and storage hardware, technology consulting, and software sales, and is HP’s largest business unit.
Softcat’s chairman Martin Hellawell was understandably delighted with the award following a high-performance year for the UK company.
“Las Vegas is famous for its spinning roulette wheels and Lady Luck, but Softcat doesn’t believe in gambling with its valued partners. This award recognises the consistent hard work and outstanding customer service provided by our sales and technical teams; we don’t take risks but we’re definitely in it to win it – for HP and our customers,” he said.
The trophy was accepted by David Ridgway, sales director at Softcat, who commented: “Excellence is a word we use a lot at Softcat and is something we are always striving for, so this award is particularly fitting. This might be a bit too Oscar-like, but may I take this opportunity to thank our joint customers, the wonderful employees of Softcat, and our many friends in the HP business who have worked tirelessly with us to achieve this joint success.”
