Distributor CDG UK Launches Channel Innovator Programme
All the clever new inventions are off the radar and resellers don’t have time to find them, claims CDG
Software distributor CDG UK has unveiled a new scheme to get resellers into the latest application delivery, data management and security software from independent software vendors.
The Innovation scheme comprises three parts, a showcase, analysis audit and new technology due diligence scheme.
Innovation showcase
The Innovation Showcase events will introduce resellers and solution providers to new market opportunities and showcase new inventions from both a sales and technical tracks perspective. The aim is to make it simple and efficient for partners to spot market trends and capitalise on them, CDG claimed.
The Innovation Analysis Audit predicts how customer projects can be based on user needs. It aims to match analysis of customer problems, recommended technologies, required project outcomes and success criteria. The third offering, New Technology’ Due Diligence provides enterprise resellers with a safer route to disruptive and game-changing new technologies by mapping out the pros and cons.
CDG has also expanded its pre-sales and technical support. It’s all about getting resellers to market more quickly, explained Chris Patton (pictured), commercial director at CDG UK.
“Enterprise customers want someone to simplify IT delivery,” said Patton, “but there’s an innovation gap between customers, vendors and channel partners.”
With smaller and emerging vendors off the radar resellers don’t have the time to seek out and test new solutions, said Chris Patton: “The new CDG programmes make it easier for resellers to address some of the biggest enterprise pain points. From the vendor side, these new services make it easier to find, recruit and train resellers around their technologies.”
Sam Routledge, solutions director at software vendor Softcat described it as a great idea. “Anything that helps us to innovate and to get up to speed quicker is a good thing,” he said.
CDG also announced it has signed a partnership with Webroot for its cloud-based endpoint protection and Internet security-as-a service products.
