Ingram Micro has appointed an executive managing director and added Genee World to its audio-visual (AV) and digital signage offerings.
Genee World is building a reputation for producing ICT and AV products for the classroom and lecture theatre, and is now concentrating on making a stronger move into the business markets for training and presentation areas, plus the boardroom.
Moving up
Ingram Micro has promoted Brent McCarty to be its replacement MD for Matt Sanderson who has moved back to Australia to head up operations there. McCarty will take responsibility for the UK and Ireland division over the next month.
He previously led Ingram’s Consumer Electronics division (IMCE), which was formerly known as DBL Distributing (acquired in 2007). Prior to IMCE, McCarty worked for Dell Computer in Canada in various sales positions. He will now report to Johan Vandenbussche, Ingram Micro’s regional vice president for the UK, Belgium and Netherlands.
Alain Maquet, president of Ingram Micro EMEA, commented, “Brent is an experienced IT distribution professional with a strong track record of success within Ingram Micro. Under his leadership, our UK & Ireland business will continue on its path of growth.”
The Genee World deal is part of this growth and Ingram will focus on the sale of document visualiser cameras and interactive large format whiteboard displays.
Raj Pandya, head of Ingram Micro’s UK AV and Digital Signage division, said, “To support our vendors in this area and encourage continued growth, we have developed a strong team which has been boosted recently with the recruitment of Nabil Hadi as Pro AV business manager and Gavin Croxford as Pro AV business development manager.”
Genee World’s products will be available from Ingram Micro from next Monday 7 January, 2013.
