Avnet Technology Solutions will begin providing support for Brocade resellers in the UK in a bid to strengthen relationships with customers buying the US firms networking gear.
The distributor will be the first in the UK to offer 24/7 assistance to its resellers selling Brocade gear. One of its requirements as a Support Delivery Partner (SDP) will be to provide trained and certified Brocade engineers, which will receive ongoing technical support from Avnet TS.
The partnership will mean that Brocade resellers partnering with Avnet will be able to sell support services to customers, without any additional operational costs.
“End-user customers today demand the best hardware and software solutions to enable access to applications and services. In addition, quality support is an essential element of any solution purchase,” Anthony Rowan, services director at Avnet TS said.
“As the first distributor to be appointed as a Brocade SDP in the UK, we have the opportunity to assist our business partners as they compete by providing total solutions, including valuable support contracts.”
John Mitchell, channel sales manager Western Europe at Brocade, added that resellers will be able to create stronger relationships with customers by offering more comprehensive support.

Last week Brocade announced revenue growth of 5 percent year on year for the fourth quarter, up to $578 million. For the full fiscal year the company reached $2.2 billion, growth of 4 percent compared with the previous year.
