Lots 3 and 4 for SaaS and cloud

Ministry of Defence spin-off Qinetiq has got itself a place on Lots 3 and 4 of the government’s G-Cloud II, a service aimed at giving the public sector easier access to procurement choices.

Lot 3, Qinetiq says, is a framework for Software as a Service, while Lot 4 is specifically for specialist cloud services.

Qinetiq says that its Award software is a collaborative web based product which is made specifically to support strategic procurement projects, enabling repeatable processes for project and organisational deployments.

This is the second year running Qinetiq has been accredited to G-Cloud. The company’s government account director at commerce decisions, Gavin Shepheard, pointed out that its main customer base is within the public sector, and that G-Cloud “presents a straight forward route for them to purchase the services they require”.

Qinetiq’s Award software has been used in a broad range of sectors including central local and regional government, utilities, transport, healthcare, aerospace, and defence.
