Advanced Business Solutions buys ATMS
Wants a cut of the lucrative third party logistics market
Advanced Business Solutions bought ATMS in a bid to strengthen its third party logistics offering.
The business applications and services provider wants a cut of the third party logistics market, which is claimed to be worth S$1.35 trillion worldwide by 2018.
It hopes that by purchasing ATMS, a provider of ‘best of breed’ warehouse management IT systems to the third party logistics, manufacturing and distribution sectors, it will be one step further to getting a cut in the market.
ATMS will be incorporated into Advanced Business Solutions’ Commercial Division. As ATMS and Advanced have enjoyed a successful partnership since June 2011, they already have a number of joint customers.
The buy will build on the existing integration of ATMS’ leading warehouse management system, StockTrack Plus, into Advanced’s financial management system,
Simon Fowler, Managing Director of Advanced Business Solutions Commercial Division, said the acquisition of ATMS provided the company with “significant opportunity in the UK supply chain market.”
ATMS turns over £1.3m a year, has 16 members of staff who are based at its Birmingham office and 40 customers across 100 sites. Customers include Molton Brown, Walkers Snack Foods and the Domino Pizza Group.
