Next Generation Data (NGD) has been awarded high level security accreditation for its NGD Europe data centre.
The company has achieved Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE16) standards compliance accreditation after demonstrating high level operating and reporting standards at its Newport, South Wales, facility.
Assessment from auditors PwC shows that NGD has met the level required by many global organisations, with suitability for customers needing to comply with stringent legal requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley.
According to NGD, the SSAE16 accreditation shows a high level of operating effectiveness, and opens the doors to chasing new business, particularly in the US.
“As a service organisation, compliance with SSAE16 further shows our total commitment to making NGD Europe one of the safest data centres in the world and assures customers of the integrity and robustness of our reporting systems,” said Nick Razey, CEO of NGD.
“SSAE16 is of particular importance to our growing number of US and financial services customers in light of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act which strictly governs the storage of corporate data records including electronic files.”
The facility already features high security features such as earthquake proof design, not to mention a range of protective measures including double and triple skinned walls, bomb proof glass, prison grade perimeter fencing, anti-ram bollards, infra-red detection, and ex-army security guards.
