Fujitsu and Arrow ECS target SIs with backup virtualisation
Virtual Machine Protection aimed at simple backup for SMB customers
Fujitsu has teamed up with Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions to target systems integrators with a ready made service for virtualised backup.
The Japanese vendor’s Virtual Machine Protection (VMP) appliance will include the firm’s Primergy servers and Eternus storage, alongside Symantec’s NetBackup software.
Fujitsu says that providing simple backup for virtualised environments can be tough for resellers, and aims to target its VMP systems towards smaller and mid-sized businesses.
There are four pre-defined Fujitsu VMP Appliance configurations being offered through Arrow ACS upon launch, ranging from optimised tape based protection to disaster-recovery compliant, disk-based protect the firm says.
“With its vast experience and knowledge of the enterprise market, Arrow ECS is perfectly placed to help our partners drive sales of virtualised backup solutions,” said Simon Worsfold, channel and enterprise sales director, at Fujitsu UK and Ireland’s Technology Product Group.
“This is a very attractive set of offerings and one that once again shows how Fujitsu is working to deliver new ideas and more potential for enterprise and midmarket partners.”
Steve Pearce, managing director for the United Kingdom region for Arrow ECS highlighted the benefits for channel partners. “By bringing Fujitsu and Symantec solutions together in this way, we are making it much easier for resellers to offer dependable backup/ restore solutions for virtualised environments.”
“Also, the appliance enables resellers to deliver excellent return on investment for the customer and drive incremental revenues.”
