Access Group buys Prelytis
Company moves into BI market
Access Group has acquired Prelytis.
The acquisition of the French-based innovative business intelligence (BI) company marks the first of a series of moves by Access into the SaaS marketplace, as part of its integrated cloud strategy. It also brings HTML 5 software to its product portfolio
With a predicted growth rate of over eight percent to 2015, Gartner analysts expect the BI market to remain one of the fastest growing software sectors, as organisations continue to turn to BI as a vital tool for smarter, more agile and more efficient business with the expansion of mobile computing devices a key driver. Gartner predicts that 33 percent of BI functionality will be consumed via handheld devices by 2013.
Prelytis’ LiveDashBoard already has 100,000 daily users at 300 customers. It is said to now offer Access customers a new dimension for viewing their management information.
Chris Bayne, Access CEO, said: “Our users will benefit hugely from being able to see their real-time business information anytime, anywhere and on whatever platform they choose: laptop; smart phone; tablet; or desktop. Easy-to-use analytics put power into the user’s own hands and provide strong data access and integration capabilities.
“Valuable real-time information is the backbone of all business decisions, and while Access has always provided dashboards with our solutions, Prelytis LiveDashBoard takes our BI to the next level. Agile, collaborative, user-friendly as well as easy to customise, LiveDashBoard also lets you have instant messenger-style conversations about live data allowing users, and businesses, to collaborate in real-time no matter where they are.”
By acquiring Prelytis, Access also said that it expects to accelerate further its current organic growth rate of 13 percent.
