Storage vendor Active Storage has announced it will expand its presence in the UK and Europe, hiring a new sales manager for the region.
US firm Active Storage specialises in storage equipment and services for media and entertainment post production, and sells into the channel in the UK, having opened offices here in 2009.
The storage vendor has now hired Thomas Filioud, previously employed in Dell’s software division, to help boost business in the UK and further afield in Europe, pushing Active Storage’s mMedia platform, ActiveRAID and SAN analysis software.
Managing director at Active Storage Paul Phillips says that the firm will now drive growth through its channel-only business, which features a range of resellers, VARs and SIs.
“Our model is to create new end-user awareness and demand with our own UK-based team,” Phillips told ChannelBiz UK, “we sell exclusively via resellers and systems integrators in the UK and have a select and very effective set of partners.
“We will be appointing territory managers and embedded Systems Engineers in each of our major markets to consolidate our existing footprint.”
Active Storage, which provides storage service to the likes of BBC, ESPN, MTV and others, currently sells through a partner network in the UK that includes Boxer Systems, Jigsaw Broadcast, XTFX, Hyperactive, Trams/Rapid, Square Group,MacConsultants & Root6.
