Bracknell-based MDNX which is an integrator providing critical managed networks to major UK enterprises, government and channel partners is buying the channel-only supplier Griffin.
Griffin has 20 years’ experience selling white label products and services to the UK resellers.
MDNX wanted Griffin acquisition to continue its push in the UK’s business market and create separation between the company’s direct and indirect business.
MDNX CEO Mark Thompson said Griffin and MDNX both sell managed networks. Buying Griffin will allow the company to avoid conflicts between channel and direct operations.
Thompson said that the two companies have products based on the same infrastructure and both have a similar commitment to automation.
Griffin was a natural fit and let MDNX build a complete, channel operation in the UK, supported by a combined portal that integrates all the major UK carriers.
By creating a new channel-only business unit combining the MDNX and Griffin it will make MDNX the UK’s largest independent integrator, Thompson claimed.
The yearly revenues will be £85 million and the company will have 600 partners and 300 employees.
Griffin MD Andrew Dickinson said that Griffin has always
been fiercely independent and working with MDNX means did not mean that it had to compromise on that.
Griffin owns and manages its own national MPLS IP network, used solely for business use.
