Distie Computer links has announced the launch of a new cloud based DNS Managed Service through its Alvea Services business.
The channel-only Alvea Domain Name System (DNS) offering will be aimed at moving customers away from on-premises infrastructure, and towards managed cloud services.
Managing DNS is increasingly important for businesses dealing with more and more internet related requests, according to Alvea’s service deliver manager Kathryn Miller, and loss of website access can hit firms in the pocket.
“Managing DNS is a key element of website security and resilience,” Miller said, and having it managed as a service via the cloud can make life easier for customers.
This means that resellers can help free up IT staff resources to concentrate on other aspects of the business rather than spending time dealing with DNS failure.
Alvea Services also announced the expansion of its team dedicated to supporting channel partners in moving to cloud services.
Neil Gardner has joined the team as services proposition manager for Alvea Services cloud offerings. Sales manager Jason Phillips and sales specialist Jon McFaddon have also been brought in to help more resellers understand Alvea Services’ business.
