Intel announces Cloud SSO link-up with Salesforce

Intel has announced a cloud based identity management system for social enterprise apps through Salesforce’s Force.com.

The Cloud SSO, meaning single sign on, service will allow access to a range of social cloud applications for enterprises such as Box.com, Cisco’s WebEx, and Google App, with just one password securely stored through Salesforce.

Intel says that enterprises can rely on it to provide identity and access management functions in the cloud over thousands of applications, with security provided through a “two factor authentication” process.

One time password allocation will also be made available for mobile devices, making life easier for multiple Software as a Service applications.

Intel says that the Identity and Access Management-as-a-Service is part of a wider move into cloud security as it finds new uses for McAfee.

“Today, outsourcing identity and security as a service is a viable, fully functional and economical option for companies of all sizes,” said Girish Juneja, director at Intel for Application Security and Identity Products.

“The prospect of removing security complexity and relieving the burden of providing connectivity to an ever-increasing list of SaaS apps just makes business sense.”
