UK Security Resellers Get Tufin’s Policy Management

Security resellers can now offer their customers cost saving automated security management thanks to a new deal to import technology which has been available since 2009 in Germany.

Computerlinks has signed a distribution deal for Tufin Technologies’ network security policy management systems in the UK and Eire.

The distributor claims its channel partners can complement their existing IT security portfolios with Tufin offerings such as SecureTrack (a firewall manager) and SecureChange a change management system.

Automated management will save clients money

The systems save on management costs by automating network security operations, said David Caughtry, director of core technology at Computerlinks. Their other selling point is that they help companies manage compliance through change control, he argued.

These two assets will create new opportunities for Computerlinks’ channel partners to add value and differentiate themselves, said Caughtry. It could be an easy sale, he mooted. “Tufin already has a very strong footprint in the UK, and we believe this deal will significantly accelerate adoption,” he said.

The option to complement existing firewall and network infrastructure systems gives resellers something extra to offer to clients, argued Tufin Technologies’ regional manager, Robert Civil.

However, the technology has been available for two years in German markets. Civil confirmed that Computerlinks AG has had a distribution agreement with Tufin in Germany since 2009 but offered no explanation why it had not been available in the UK. “Computerlinks is familiar with our solutions,” said Civil, adding that the experience in Germany means it can, “present the benefits offered by automating network security processes.”
